Our first Training Tracker User Group meeting was held on 8th November 2006 at Darwin College, Cambridge. The meeting was a great success with users representing a number of clients - including NHS Trusts, PCTs and water companies - converging on this idyllic location for a day of discussion and interaction.

Many thanks to everybody who participated. It was brilliant for us to meet so many of you and to hear about the wide range of modules you are developing in Training Tracker.

To those of you who couldn't make it this year, we very much hope to see you next year.

The meeting was led by Graham Spinks, Managing Director of The Multimedia Design Studio Limited the company which develops and distributes Training Tracker.

After lunch, we held a swap shop to investigate what Training Tracker modules users have produced, what they require, and how modules might be exchanged freely.

Richard Abbott, General Manager of the Medical Services Directorate at St Mary's NHS Trust, Paddington, told us about the set of modules his team has developed to support the Statutory and Mandatory training for Junior Doctors.

Graham Daurge then gave a brief presentation on South West Water's pioneering work on Manual Handling. He told us that reported back injuries have declined since the introduction of their Back in Shape module!!

The day was rounded up with everyone putting forward their ideas about how the user group might develop and how often we might meet.

What now?

Our User group is open to all organisations that have purchased Training Tracker.

We are continually looking for ways to enhance our product to meet your needs.

Following discussions at our meeting, top of our list of developments are:

  • increased accessibility of Training Tracker modules
  • increased number of user levels
  • simpler communication between Training Tracker course developers
  • Swap shop for exchanging modules

All the User group members found the day extremely useful and without exception, are very keen to keep in contact and meet again next year.
